Bagan – Monywa (2 Days)
This is a rare Trip cruising on two rivers. Sail along the Scenic landscape, experience simple life style, wonder around the monuments rich in history. We will bring you to small villages and towns where time stands still and see means of agriculture and manufacturing mostly done by hand just as in old bible. We start sailing from Bagan through the heart of central dry plain, small villages, historical famous cities. Most places we visit are far away from the modern civilization. Since its predominant religion is Buddhism and we will find old monasteries and temples, we will take time to enjoy historically valuable sites and the simple art of Myanmar.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Bagan – Pakokku – A Myint
In the morning board on board Metta cruise and leave the old capital, set sail the cruise to Monywa. We will visit bustling market of Pakkoku and weaving factory and the small town life.
In the afternoon, visit Pakangyi, where we still have the old teak monastery. Set sail near A Myint village and stop for the night. Lunch and Dinner included and overnight stay on board.
Day 2 A Myint – PhoWin Hill
In the morning visit lively village, bamboo weaving. This village is full of interesting old remains.
In the late afternoon, go on a jeep to explore to fascinating Pho Win Hills. Thousands of man-made meditation caves will amazed you. Some with special murals paintings. The caves themselves contain Buddhist statues and murals dating to the 15th and 18th centuries. Most exhibit the Inwa style. Though some may date as far back as the 14th to16th centuries. A covered stairway climbs a hill to the main cave shrine. But there are large and small caves in the area filled with old Buddha images. There are over 400.000 images in these and other nearby caves.
Lunch and Dinner included and overnight stay on board.
Day 3 Monywa Departure
After breakfast on board, transfer to your hotel in Monywa or depart with your own arrangement. Breakfast on board.

Cruise Price Includes : Coach transfer Bagan city to Jetty, Jetty to Monywa Hotels, trishaw, local transports in the villages, tours, entrance fees, guide services (English language), main meals, afternoon tea and nourishments, locally made soft drinks, local beer and local spirits, jugged coffee and selection of teas and tisanes, mineral water.
Cruise Price Excludes : International flights, port dues (if levied), laundry, alcohol, all visa costs, imported beverages such as wines, premium spirits and liqueurs, fancy soft drinks like Perrier, espressos and cappuccinos at bar and tips to tour guides, tips for boat crew, local guides, bus drivers, boat operators and cyclo drivers.
TRANASFER AND JOINING
Day 1 Bagan Town
Pick up from your desired hotel in Bagan at 11:30am, then transfer to Jetty.
Day 3 Monywa City
Drop off at your Hotel around 10:00 hours in Monywa.
RIVER CONDITION WARNING
The Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers are subject to seasonal rises and falls of water level. In the case of water levels being too high or low an alternative itinerary will be offered to Passenger. Published itineraries are indication only and subject to sudden change.
