Myanmar Heritage by Bicycle (15 Days)

Mandalay – Monywa – Pakokku – Bagan – Popa – Kalaw – Pindaya – Inle – Yangon

 15 Days – 14 Nights

Day 1: Arrival Mandalay (coach)

Welcome at Mandalay airport and transfer to hotel. On the way, visit to Mahamuni Pagoda and gold leaf workshop and then continue to hotel and check-in. In the evening, visit Shwenandaw monastery, Kuthotaw Pagoda and sunset at Mandalay Hill.

Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 2: Mandalay – Amarapura – Mingun – Mandalay (bike/boat)

After breakfast, bike along the Irrawaddy riverside to Amarapura and visit Mahagandayon monastery, U Bein bridge (1.2 km) and silk weaving workshop. And then continue to Sagaing and take mini lunch (own account) at Sagaing Hill restaurant. After lunch, continue to Mingun and visit Mya-thein-tan Pagoda, Mingun bell and Pa-hto-taw-gyi Pagoda. In the evening, continue to Mandalay by boat with local wine party. Then, continue to hotel by bike.

Overnight in Mandalay. (50km)

Day 3: Mandalay – Monywa (coach/bike)

After breakfast, proceed to Chaung Oo by coach (2 hrs) or then start cycling tour to Monywar (30km). On the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery and visit Baw-di-ta-taung Pagoda and Than-Buddhe Pagoda (very nice view and photo stop) and then continue to hotel and check-in.

Day 4: Monywa – Pakkoku (bike/coach)

After breakfast, start our biking from hotel to Magyi – boat village (35km). On the way, pass Amyint and Aneint villages. We can enjoy beautiful scenery, mural painting in Ava and konbaung dynasty. And then continue Pa-chan-gyi by car and Pa-khan-gyi to Pakkoku by bike (30km). Overnight in Pakkoku.

Day 5: Pakkoku – Bagan (bike)

After breakfast, bike to Bagan (45km). We have chance to pass the longest bridge in Myanmar (round about 6km). It is panoramic view and very nice to enjoy the Irrawaddy river view. After bridge continue to Bagan and on the way enjoy rice fields, ground peanuts, sesame and other plantation. And then, check-in to hotel and in the evening, enjoy the sunset one of nice pagodas.

Day 6: Bagan S/S (bike) about 40km

After breakfast, start Bagan sightseeing around thousands of ancient Pagoda. Lunch on local restaurant (own account) and in the evening, enjoy sunset and panoramic view one of the nice Pagoda.

Day 7: Bagan – Popa (bike) 50km

After check-out, proceed to Mt Popa by bike (50km). On the way, visit palm wine making, palm sugar making and peanut oil making. And then continue to Mt Popa and mini lunch (own account) at local restaurant. After lunch, visit to Mt Popa by car and climb to Takalatt hill (777sleps) to enjoy the panoramic view. And then come back to Yangon restaurant and continue to Popa Mountain Resort by bike.

Day 8: Popa – Kalaw by car (230km)

After check out from hotel, drive to Kyaukpantaung and visit local market (very nice, no souvenir shops, no beggars,  vegetable market) and then continue to Kalaw. Minin lunch (own account) at yin-mar-bin and in the evening, arrive to Kalaw. Check in hotel.

Day 9: Kalaw – Pindaya (50km)

After breakfast, start biking from hotel to myin-ka village and then continue to Taung-nie, Nawataung monastery and pain-ne-bin village. After pain-ne-bin, arrive to Aung ban – Pindaya main road. Then continue to Pindaya. On the way enjoy beautiful landscape, panoramic view, ways of life and very nice scenery. Mini lunch (own account) at local restaurant. In Pindaya, visit Pindaya cave and umbrella family workshop.

Overnight in Pindaya.

Day 10: Pindaya S/S (bike/trekking)

After breakfast, start our day return trekking tour. (Pindaya – Htu ni – See kya in – Taung paw gyi – Pindaya). After one hour drive to Htut-ni village and visit to Danu tribe family house and then continue to See-kya-inn village. On the way, enjoy beautiful scenery, tealeaf plantations and panoramic view. After two hours arrive to See-kya-inn village and lunch (own account) at there. After lunch, take a leisure and come back to Pindaya. In the evening, arrive to Pindaya.

(Sea-kya-inn – 1700m above sea level)

Day 11: Pindaya – Heho – Nyaung Shwe (bike/coach) 65km

Check-out from hotel and bike to Heho (Pindaya – Baw Son – Thae Kone – Heho) – 35km, and then continue to Nyaung Shwe (Heho  – Taung lay lon Junction – check point – Nyaung SHwe) – 30km. Then, Nyaung Shwe to hotel by boat.

Overnight in Inle.

Day 12: Inle S/S by boat

After breakfast, visit to 5 days market and then continue Phaung Taw Oo pagoda, Inn-Phaw-Kone village (weaving), Blacksmith, Boat making and lunch (own account) at local restaurant. After lunch, visit cheroot factory, floating islands, villages and Jumping cat monastery (Nga-phae-chaung) and then come back to hotel.

Overnight in Inle.

Day 13: Around Inle S/S – Nyaung Shwe by bike/boat 65km

After breakfast, start around Inle sightseeing by bike. Nyaung Shwe – Khaung Daing – Than Daung – Indein and then continue to Sema-Ye thar village. Then, Ye-thar to Nan Pan market place by boat (20min). And then we pass Main Thouk village and proceed to Red Mountain winery for evening panoramic view and wine tasting (own account for wine tasting). Then, continue to Nyaung Shwe and transfer to hotel.

Overnight in Nyaung Shwe.

Day 14: Nyaung Shwe  – Yangon by flight and Yangon S/S

After check out, transfer to Heho airport and flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check in. Then, Yangon sightseeing by car.

Overnight in Yangon.

Day 15: Yangon International Departure

Breakfast at hotel. Upon your international flight time take at leisure at the hotel or shopping. Then, transfer to Airport for your departure.
