Trekking and Bird Watching

Tour Program Name : Northern Trekking Tour
Duration : 7 Days / 6 Nights
Availability : Yangon - Mindat - Mt. Victoria (11500') - Kanpetlet - Yangon
 

Day 1: Yangon arrival

Meet on arrival at Yangon International Airport by Exotic Myanmar guide. Transfer to hotel for check in. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Bogyoke Aung San Market, formerly known as Scott market. In the evening, visit Shwedagon Pagoda - over 2500 years old, the most famous pagoda in Myanmar, one of the wonders of the world. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight Yangon.

 

 

Day 2: Yangon - Bagan - Mindat

Pick up at hotel and transfer to airport for flight to Bagan. Arrive to Bagan and transfer to jetty by car and cross the Ayeyarwaddy River by boat. The boat ride takes about 45 minutes. Continue to Mindat by car. Have lunch at local restaurant on the way and arrive Mindat in the evening. Mindat stands on the mountain range, 4800 ft above sea level. Overnight in Mindat.

Day 3: Mindat - Camp 1 (10 miles - 6 hours)

Visit Mindat market in the morning and have breakfast at local restaurant. Start trekking from Mindat. First, go down about 3000 ft to reach the stream and cross the stream by suspension bridge. And then, climb up to Camp1, 5000 ft above sea level, about 4 hours. Camp1 is close to a small chin village. Overnight at Camp 1.

Day 4: Camp 1 - Camp 2 (14 miles - 8 hours)

After breakfast, go up to Camp 2 (9000 ft above sea level), trekking through thick forests. View some species of orchids, birds and butterflies along the way. Arrive at Camp 2 in the evening. Overnight at Camp 2.

Day 5: Camp 2 - Mountain Peak (10,500 ft) - Camp 2 - Kanpetlet - Bagan

After breakfast, go up to the mountain peak for 30 minutes. Stay at the peak about 30 minutes and go back to Camp 2. Then go down to 10-miles camp where the pick up car will wait. Drive back to Kanpetlet. If time permits, visit some chin villages on the way. Proceed to Bagan. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 6: Bagan - Yangon

After breakfast, sightseeing famous Bagan temples and pagodas such as Shwezegon Pagoda, Gu Byauk Gyi Temple, Htilominlo Temple, Khay Min Ga Temple and etc.
Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, proceed for sightseeing Ananda Temple, Mingala Zedi Temple and Shwesandaw Pagoda. Evening transfer to Nyaung U airport for flight to Yangon. Transfer to hotel. Dinner in local restaurant. Overnight Yangon.

Day 7: Yangon departure

Breakfast at hotel. In time transfer to airport for international departure.
