DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LUANG PRABANG – WELCOME TO LAOS
Upon arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel in this charming World Heritage town nestled among misty mountains and rivers.
The rest of the day is at leisure to relax, recover from your journey, and prepare your camera gear for the adventure ahead.

DAY 2: LUANG PRABANG MONASTERIES & PAK OU CAVES BY MEKONG BOAT
This morning we begin exploring the architectural and spiritual heart of Luang Prabang, focusing on its most photogenic monasteries and temples. Stroll through serene courtyards and golden prayer halls while capturing timeless Buddhist life.
After lunch in town, we board a traditional longboat and journey upstream along the Mekong River to the mystical Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of sacred Buddha images.
On the return cruise, we will stop at riverside villages, offering wonderful opportunities to photograph daily river life and interact with friendly locals.

DAY 3: KUANG SI WATERFALLS & EVENING LANTERN PREPARATIONS
After an early breakfast, we drive into the lush mountains to the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfalls. Here you will experiment with long-exposure waterfall photography, turquoise pools, and tropical rainforest scenery. You may also enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters.
Return to Luang Prabang for lunch. In the afternoon, we visit a local monastery to witness monks making final preparations for the upcoming Lai Heua Fai – Festival of Light, giving you rare behind-the-scenes cultural and photographic moments.

DAY 4: TAK BAT CEREMONY & FESTIVAL OF LIGHT
Just after sunrise, we witness the sacred Tak Bat (morning alms offering), one of the most spiritual rituals in Laos. As this is one of the holiest days in the Lao calendar, we will see large crowds of locals offering food to the monks in a deeply moving procession. To ensure the best photographic experience, we position ourselves away from tourist crowds.
After breakfast, we visit a traditional pottery village to photograph local craftspeople at work.
In the late afternoon, we head out for the magical Festival of Light. Photograph Buddhist monks and villagers lighting hundreds of paper lanterns, and continue shooting through sunset, blue hour, and deep night, as the glow of candles and lanterns transforms the city into a living dreamscape.

DAY 5: MAHOUT EXPERIENCE, IMAGE REVIEW & MEKONG SUNSET
After an optional early Tak Bat near the hotel, we travel to a tranquil riverside environment for a unique mahout experience, photographing a local mahout bathing his elephant — a powerful and emotional wildlife photography opportunity.
Return to town for lunch. In the afternoon, we enjoy a group image review session, including feedback from the workshop host and a live post-production demonstration.
We conclude the day with a romantic sunset shoot from a jetty on the Mekong River.

DAY 6: STREETS OF LUANG PRABANG & BOUN HEUA FAI (FIRE BOAT FESTIVAL)
This morning is dedicated to street photography in Luang Prabang. We explore:
- Local markets
- Quiet monastery corners
- Charming French-colonial streets and cafés
In the late afternoon, we witness the incredible Boun Heua Fai (Festival of the Fire Boat). Villagers carry enormous illuminated paper boats through town to the banks of the Mekong River before releasing them downstream. Lanterns rise into the night sky as we photograph the festival under the full moon.

DAY 7: HMONG VILLAGE & TRANSFER TO NONG KHIAW
After breakfast, we drive into the mountains to visit a remote Hmong village. With the help of a Hmong-speaking guide, you will have meaningful interaction with villagers, creating rare and intimate photographic opportunities.
After a light village lunch of traditional sticky rice, we continue our scenic 3-hour transfer to Nong Khiaw, our base for exploring tribal regions over the next few days.

DAY 8: REMOTE MOUNTAIN VILLAGES (HMONG & LAHU)
Today is a true adventure. We climb into a local truck and journey deep into the mountains to visit remote Hmong and Lahu villages.
We spend the day photographing village life, mountain landscapes, and traditional costumes. Overnight will be in simple Hmong village accommodation (basic dormitory style) — an authentic cultural experience offering extraordinary photo moments.
Optional stay behind in Nong Khiaw can be arranged for guests who prefer more comfort.

DAY 9: VILLAGE LIFE & NONG KHIAW MEKONG RIVER CRUISE
After spending the morning in the village photographing daily activities and rice-field life, we return to Nong Khiaw.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a peaceful Mekong River cruise, capturing fishermen, riverside farms, and golden reflections along the riverbanks.

DAY 10: NONG KHIAW – LUANG PRABANG
This morning we visit the ethnic market of Nong Khiaw, an excellent location for vibrant documentary photography.
After lunch, we drive back to Luang Prabang. In the afternoon, we enjoy another group image review session, followed by sunset shooting at the Luang Prabang pier.

DAY 11: FINAL STREET PHOTOGRAPHY & FAREWELL DINNER
Our last full day is dedicated to final street photography practice in Luang Prabang — capturing markets, monks, craftspeople, river life, and quiet alleyways.
In the evening, we celebrate the journey with a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant, sharing stories, images, and unforgettable memories.
