The final morning at Awei Pila. Savour the last sunrise over the Andaman, take one final barefoot walk along the private beach, and say a heartfelt farewell to the resort team. Then board your private speedboat back to Kawthaung, refreshed, inspired and already planning your return. Cross the Pakchan River to Ranong, Thailand, completing one of Southeast Asia’s most extraordinary journeys.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL

The Myeik Archipelago and Awei Pila Resort are open from November 1st to May 15th each year. The optimum window for photographers is late November to early March: seas are at their calmest, skies are clearest, underwater visibility exceeds 20 metres and golden-hour light is at its richest across the entire route.

Awei Pila Resort operates under a philosophy of sustainable, eco-conscious tourism. The resort uses solar-assisted power, minimises single-use plastics, and actively partners with local Moken communities to ensure tourism benefits the indigenous population. Guests are asked to use reef-safe sunscreen exclusively (provided by the resort) to protect the pristine coral reefs of the Mergui Archipelago.

ITINERARY FLEXIBILITY

Daily resort activities and island excursions are subject to weather conditions and sea state. Awei Pila Resort’s experienced team will always communicate schedule changes promptly and substitute equally rewarding activities when required. The captain reserves the right to adjust boat routes and departure times for the safety and comfort of all guests.

• Always ask permission before photographing locals — our cultural liaison facilitates introductions at all Moken villages
• Remove shoes before entering all pagodas. Shoulders and knees must be covered (longyi/sarong provided in your welcome kit)
• Never point feet at Buddha images, monks or sacred objects
• Small gifts are warmly appreciated by Moken families: notebooks, pens, fruit — never give money directly to children
• Drones are restricted in Myanmar — all permits are arranged by Memories Group in advance. Never fly without guide clearance

 

BOOKING & PAYMENT POLICY

 

A 30% refundable deposit is required at booking; the balance is due 45 days prior to arrival. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival incur a 50% charge; within 14 days, 100% charge applies. Comprehensive trip-cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. Awei Pila Resort availability is limited — early booking is advised for peak season (December to February).
